The Geely EX2 was the surprise of the Thai EV market. It passed 1,000 pre-orders within three days of its debut at the Thailand International Motor Expo, and finished the show with 4,016 bookings.
Deliveries went out to the first 2,000 customers who completed their bookings and were ready to take the car. That second condition is the part worth reading carefully.
Prices and what they include
From 1 January 2026:
| Variant | Price |
|---|---|
| Geely EX2 Pro | ฿429,990 |
| Geely EX2 Max | ฿459,990 |
Geely extended its Motor Expo special pricing into January 2026 — but customers booking under the campaign had to take delivery by February 2026 to keep the promotional terms.
That is the detail that caught people out. A booking alone did not lock the price. If your allocation slipped past February, the campaign terms went with it. Anyone still holding an old booking sheet should check which condition their price was written under.
Why it sold
It undercut the segment. At ฿429,990 the EX2 landed in the same bracket as a petrol eco-car, which brought in buyers who had never seriously considered an EV.
The badge carries weight in Thailand. Geely Holding also owns Volvo, Polestar, Lotus and Smart, and Thai buyers read that as engineering credibility rather than as an unknown Chinese brand.
It arrived at the right moment. The Motor Expo campaign ran straight into the EV3 registration deadline of January 2026, so the incentive to commit early was unusually strong.

What to check before you buy one
Service coverage outside Bangkok. A brand that scales from near-zero to thousands of cars in a few months grows its dealer network faster than its trained technician pool. Ask specifically what work the nearest service point can do, and what has to go elsewhere.
Delivery terms in writing. As above — booking date and delivery date are not the same thing, and the price condition usually attaches to the second one.
Air conditioning in this climate. Range figures are quoted under test conditions. In Phuket, at 35 °C with the air conditioning working hard, expect meaningfully less than the brochure number. That is normal for every EV, not a fault.
The 12V battery. Like every EV, the EX2 has a 12V battery that wakes the whole car and is not covered by the high-voltage warranty. In Phuket’s heat, plan on roughly 18-24 months. → Caring for your EV’s 12V battery in Phuket
If you are leaving it parked
An EV left for a week on a low state of charge is the single most common way owners here end up stranded at the airport car park.
- Leave it with a healthy state of charge, not near empty
- Turn off remote-connection features in the app before a long trip
- Have the 12V checked before you travel if the car is over two years old
